*Has anyone moved their coop before? Espeically one that's kinda heavy? I can understand if your moving. I took our duck pen and moved it right next to our chicken coops! It was heavy, I mostly pushed it over. Didnt have to go that far.

I was just thinking about the heat source for the winter time, and dont was 2 heat lamps running outside, so now i can make a large cut, connecting the coops (duck and chickens) and have access to all of them. I have been wanting to do this for a while now.
My ducklings are still indoors for a few more weeks, but since I just moved their coop, now i have to make more run (oh yes, i did that already too).

Now i have to make another trip to home depot for wood supplies etc.
When does this ever end?

I have to move my first coop to a more protected location about 50' farther from my house, where it will be under trees for protection from rain and sun. Initially I wanted it there but the fella that built it would come at times I wasn't there so I couldn't direct him as to placement and other odds and ends of its construction. No small feat this move will be, but I Have the means to tow it. What will be harder is lifting it up onto blocks for better elevation and access. Here is the one to be moved...

That was in Jan.! It needs to be moved to the left of the small coop just in the distance of the pic.

The coop which is yellow is the one i moved to the left side. right next to the others, i have to still push it more back so its flush in the front with the others.
But I am a woman , and I cant push it anymore, (pooped out).

I just wish I hadnt done the run, now like I said, making more work for myself. But this week, Ill get it done ( I hope) .

also, if you look to the left of the yellow coop, the big pine tree, (whats left of it). I am going to leave it in the run, I think its kinda cool. But when i was moving the coop, I had to go around that thing.

You can always try jacking up one end just high enough to stick a pipe, either metal or PVC, under it then roll it closer to the other coop.

Please don't show pictures with snow. We actually got up to 70's today after a really cold, raw, miserable March. I like to pretend snow never happened. We set a record for February snow fall but, that seems like years ago. From now till early winter we'll be hearing "severe weather watches and stuff." AH spring!!

I bought an 8x10 yard shed and had it delivered to my back yard. When the guy dropped it off, he put it where I thought I wanted it, but before I actually put my chickens in it, I changed my mind. So, I had to move it almost 60 feet to where it now rests on blocks. It is wood frame, not a metal shed. I bought 3 pieces of 4" plastic pipe, got DW and DIL to help me push it and together we moved it fairly easy. I also used a spud bar as a lever to push with, made it quite easy to turn it to, but the secret was the pipe. 6" pipe would have even been better for as large of a building as I had to move, but I managed it with the 4" pipe.
