I bought 12 "White Leghorns" in April from TSC. 8 smaller ones from one brooder, and 4 slightly larger ones (supposedly also WLs, supposedly only a few days older) from another brooder which was unlabeled. Of the 4 larger ones, 3 turned out to be roos. We gave away 2 of the roos, and the remaining one has turned into what appears to be a very handsome WL rooster. The pullet from that group has always looked different from the other girls. She was by far the first to get her full feathers and was more docile that the others. At 21 weeks, she still has very little comb and is much bigger than the other girls (she always has been bigger, but I assumed the bigger chicks were dominating the feeder a little, plus they had a head start), and her tail doesn't stand up. However, she doesn't seem overwight and has no trouble getting around. We are getting up to 6 eggs a day from our 8 hens, so at least 2 somebodies may not be laying yet. Could I have brought home a Cornish Cross in my batch of WLs? Or another breed?

This is a good pic of the girl in question, "Miss Perfect."

This is what the other girls look like now. Big, floppy combs and perky tail feathers.

"Miss Perfect" and "Handsome."
Thanks in advance for any thoughts you might share. We are new to this and google images wil only take you so far
