Has anyone ever had a bird with Pollorum or typhoid?

I think that those are the 2 main diseases N.P.I.P. tests for. All of our birds are healthy. But I just wondered what are the symptoms like? Is it easy to detect? I would hate to buy a bird from someone that had these diseases!
