I was thinking about getting a couple of them for different breeds I have. I wondered if anyone else purchased them. Did you find them to be very insightful? Worth the price?
Thanks for your opinions!

I purchase the Holderread bulletins for each of the breeds I own. I also have the bulletin on management for egg production. I think they are only a couple of bucks each, and well worth the price. They contain good tips on breeding the birds, as well as management tips. I highly recommend the bulletins.

I have them! I would highly recommend them. There is some outdated information, but overall there is a lot of great information in them, including more detailed information about how each breed should look, faults to look out for, and more information on the development of the breeds. Lots of interesting tidbits!

Some of the self published publications cover breeds that are no longer popular and don't cover some of the 'fancy' new colors/patterns that have become popular since they were written. no photos but Millie H does a mean line drawing. I bought a complete set about 7 years ago and use them fairly often, momey well spent!

Yeah, I agree. I got a set of them last year finally and wish I would have done it years ago. The one bit of information that is consistently not current are some of the genotypes listed here and there. Their book has the more currently accepted genotypes for the various "designer" colors. Overall though, there is a lot of awesome info.
