Has anyone tried the Mcmurrays BBQ special or Fryer special?

I thought that you where talking about the frying pan special. The price for welp are shipped though. I have bought from both. I was very pleased with welp and will do buisness with them again.

I do not understand why hatcheries sell leghorns as eating birds. Leghorns are not dual purpose, they were bred for eggs only, they take forever to grow and never do have much meat on them.

I would stick with Cornish X, JM Hatchery's colored rangers, or any of the old fashioned dual purpose breeds like Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, Delaware, Orpington, etc.

That price is TYD from Meyers. I looked around hard before buying them from Meyers & they were by far the cheapest. If they are cheaper now then great.

The BBQ Special is NOT made up of light breeds. The Frying Pan Special is. The BBQ Special is made up of Cornish Roasters and/or Jumbo Cornish Rocks, hatchery choice. Since they do not ship the roasters after July, if you order now it will be all Jumbo Cornish. I have ordered the BBQ Special twice and I was very happy with it. The chicks were healthy and grew very fast. At ten to twelve weeks they dressed out in the 11 to 13 pound range. Next time I am going to try Welp simply because they are a little cheaper.
