I was wondering if this product has been used by anyone. It is called First Saturday Lime. I clean my coop more frequently now during the winter monthes and came across this product. Does it work?

I've used it before, but there are less expensive methods. To refresh, cut down on moisture, ammonia, dry out droppings, dust bath addition, drop boards, etc. I use PDZ horse stall freshener. It's the same thing as PDZ coop freshener in a bigger bag for less money, safe for composting in the garden, & provides calcium when birds peck at it.
For pest control, FSL is safer & more effective than barn lime.
I found boot trays the length of their roosts that have sides abt 2" tall, & I use these like litter boxes, w/the pdz. Eventually I did the same thing out in the run with the reg boot trays you find at box stores. Basically, anywhere they congregate to roost, there's a tray below. There are still a few strays in the sand or bedding to pick up, but it still doesn't take very long to get it done. The "litter box" keeps them from kicking out the pdz as much as they do when it's just scattered on drop boards, so I just add a bit every month or so. Likewise you can scatter it in their bedding to reduce moisture & refresh.
Nothing against FSL, it's just more money for less product when the goal is to keep things clean & dry.
