Hatch Day!!

So excited, my first batch! I am a little concerned because I have to be at work until 6pm - 6 more hours. None had pipped as of 8am this morning but I'm worried still! Do you think they will be okay until I get home or should i go check at my lunch break?

When mine hatched 5 weeks ago, I think they started a day early. It was just like ooo look they are hatching. By the end they all had hatched except for two quitters. One did get stuck and die after pipping. So If you can make it back during lunch, then go for it.

It is definitely not something I would lose my job over - just an inconvenience as I would have to eat at stop lights. If there are any little fuzzballs in there I'll snap a photo !!

Zero little guys at lunch break but was actually relieved ... I was afraid they would be out and dehydrated.

OMG! Got home and the 'bator had spiked to 106* ! Max of 107.4! Very scared now but two are still wiggling and 5 have pipped. Fingers are crossed but I am only cautiously hopeful a few might live. I unplugged the 'bator for a few minutes and restarted it and it seeeeeems to be working properly again.

wow that's a huge spike. If they were still alive after that temperature, then I would say the thermometer is off.

It's not that bad, especially since it wasn't that high when you went home at lunch (I assume you checked?). Just give them some time and make sure it comes back down.
