I started off with 24 eggs but after a few candeling sessions, am now down to 18. One white egg is questionable. When I candled them last night for the last time, this egg was not as filled as the rest of them. Still alot of light and not even half the egg seemed to be filled. The other eggs are nice and dark, even the pullet egg. I will be amazed if that one hatches. It will definitely be a runt.

They go into lockdown tomorrow so by Saturday, I'll see how many make it.

Ohhh good luck I am also hatching this weekend.

If I were you I would toss that half clear egg. It is not right for the time its been in there. I wouldn't leave it in during lock down that is for sure.

Yeah, thought about that. I will candle that one again tonight before I put them in lockdown and double check which egg it was. It wont be hard, as I only have a few white eggs in there. If the rest hatch, I will have 17.

Ok, out of starting with 24 eggs, I ended up with 18 that were still viable. I have 11 chicks that hatched as of yesterday but 6 have not shown any signs of pipping. Should I give them another day or two? I was going to candle them last night but fell asleep.

I will post pics later on today of the chicks that hatched. The one that was born out of the pullet egg has six toes!! I think its a silky cross. I got the eggs from my neighbor who has a small black silky rooster and also a barred rock rooster. Some of the eggs were definitly BR and you can tell from the markings on the chicks.
I was just wondering on the six that havent hatched yet. Should I candle and then decide what to do? Thanks for any advice.
