Hi, I'm going on a trip and want to store some eggs for incubation. I already know how to store them, but I'm just curious what the hatch rate will be for 13-14 day old eggs? Thank you kindly. :)

I have heard that the hatch rate decreased since after 10 days. I'm just wondering how fast it decreases each day. Any help please? :)

It's recommended to store them in cool temps, 55-65, if you plan to store more than 7 days.

At room temps, the oldest egg I've hatched was 21 days, and the average incubation rate for eggs > 10 days with my hen and turkey eggs is 50% to lockdown. Old eggs tend to have sticky chicks if not stored cool.

Yes, a good share of people will only incubate eggs at a week or less. It is recommended that you incubate at 10 days or less and most people agree that after 2 weeks the hatch rate significantly decreases. That's not saying you can't or shouldn't, just don't expect the same hatch rates that you would see with fresher eggs. I don't have any specific numbers and have never seen any. My first hatch is the only hatch I used eggs oler than a week (not older than 2) but that hatch was compromised by an innacurate thermometer, I will say that 90% of my eggs that weren't clear (infertile) developed and made it to lockdown).

Ok thank you both :) I'm not planning on storing more than two eggs for this timeline, I only want to store them because they look like really good hatching eggs! Plus I have it scheduled on my calendar to put them in the incubator 3 days after I come back, and I want to put certain breeds in. :cd
