Chirping
Hey, guys! I hatched 6 chicken eggs last night - I had bought the eggs from a local friend. The two roosters she has in with the hens are a Buff Orpington and an EE.
I had three green eggs resulting in 3 Buff-colored chicks (one is chipmunk I believe). Two of them have pea combs and one has a single comb.
I also had three medium-brown eggs resulting in a very light-colored chick with single comb, a buff-colored chick with a single comb, and a black& white chick with a pea comb (The mother of this one is definitely a black sex-link...this is the only egg of mine I put in and both of my roosters are EE’s).
Green Eggs:
One buff with pea comb
One buff (chipmunk?) with pea comb
One buff with single comb
Brown eggs:
One light-buff (white) with single comb
One buff with single comb
One black & white with pea comb
Just for fun, can you guys guess what the mothers of the brown ones might have been? And which rooster (buff or ee is the father). Also, what do I call them? Barnyard mixes? EE’s from the green eggs? Would I consider my black & white EE/Black sex-link mix a EE?
Thanks!
