I wanted to know the time frame of new chicks, from hatched to up and walking. I'm also starting to think that the whole kicking out of the shell is instinctual and if you 'help out' and they hatch early, they still go through that process, just out of a shell. Then move on to wiggling, scooting, eventually walking.
I'm hoping someone here can help me with far more info about the process. How long it takes, if there are any dependents on it, etc.
My little Luvbug is down a full day and still 'scooting' around. I've been helping her stand and take sips. So I need more info on how this all works and how fast. Since you buy 'day olds' from hatcheries and all, they seem very different from my little lady. Like she is on another step which would be the real 1st day, then the 2nd is the stores 1st with actual walking. Idk. Insight please.

If you 'helped' her out of the shell, you may have actually hurt her. You really should not help them at all unless its been over a day 'at least' since first pip. They will make it out on thier own and helping them out of the shell can hurt them

She was shrink wrapped and couldn't move at all. All I did was keep wetting it, eventually chipping the shell some and then she wiggled out.
