My daughter was moving to a location where she couldn't have chickens, so I gladly took her cochin trio.

She got them from someone in the parking lot at a chicken show in Winston Salem, NC. That is all she knows about their history.

To me they look better than some hatchery stock, but not poofy as show stock. What do you think?

They're not show quality, but I agree they look better than hatchery birds. They probably came from a breeder, but not necessarily one that breeds to show.

Mine are heritage giant cochins here is a pic of my rooster Marshmellow wil his lady Isis and their baby (few days old)

I think you have seen some excellent examples of hatchery stock here and one nice example of a show quality bantam black cochin male. Go to www.cochinsrule.com and go to the members web pages to see some outstanding show quality examples of most varieties of large and bantam cochins. These members are willing to sell birds, usually in the fall, to persons interested. Granted they are not cheap but quality does not come cheaply and these people put a great deal of time, money and effort in to improving and maintaining these bloodlines of cochins.
There is also a forum where you may post questions about cochins or inquire as to the purchase of cochins. Check it out and enjoy your cochins!
