hatching all year?

so.. i think that chicken math is affecting my whole family...

My dad, who hatched eggs for one of my sisters, wants me to hatch more for him..(he thinks I did a better job.. haha) he has 85 meat birds and 15 layers already...

my youngest sister has 10

and one of my other sisters just asked me to hatch her some too...

so... we go on vacation in a couple weeks, so now isnt a good time, but does it really matter? it seems kind of late, but they would be late to lay right? more towards next spring?

and I was thinking.. since i will be hatching more.. i might as well throw a couple in there for me too.. you know.. just cause...

I lost one saturday.. no idea why... it was one of the 2 that had bleeding navals, but I got it to stop and put ointment on it.. it was doing really good... got up and there it was...i guess it just wasnt meant to be.. the other one, peanut, the tiny little blrw... (i thought maybe it was a bantam, it is so small!) was the other bleeder and its having all sorts of trouble with its vent.. so... not holding out a lot of hope for it either... ;. (

and I still cant post pictures! i cant figure it out on my phone or kindle.. and my computer at work is blocked......BOO!

I guess the problem it that you didn't really have any questions..

It sounds like are having a wonderful time with chickens! (OK, the baby chick dieting wasn't good...but not all chicks make it, and everything else sounded good)

Thats ok! I forgot I posted...really, I was just thinking with my fingers. I was wondering if anyone did it. I'm not sure how we would though, since it gets too cold even in Sept to have them outside and no where to keep them for extended time inside. The next set of eggs were ordered last night, but they won't be shipped for 2 weeks! So...they should be 8 weeks old before it gets cold here. Is that long enough, or will I need a light? See?! Just thinking with my fingers again...sitting in the exam room at my drs office....ugh! But thanks!!
