I've got two Pekin ducks setting on eggs. We've lost a duckling a day for the past 3 days. I come out and find it dead in the coop. The pen is only 10 by 10 and the coop is 3x3 but they're free range until we lock them up at night. We haven't been able to retrieve any live ducklings. It's breaking my heart to find them dead everyday. Is there some kind of set up I could do inside of such a small coop that would contain the duckling but not impede the mama from getting her little breaks?

Just these 2 ducks? No other birds in the pen? It's best to confine setting birds. 2 setting next to each other in my experiences can go bad because they get confused and may attack duckling.
