I was going to charge the batteries for my camera tomorrow so I would be ready to take pics of my first hatch in my homemade bator. They were due to start hatching SUNDAY NIGHT. Okay so, I go in there about an hour ago to check on temp & humidity and there's a baby chick hoppin around in there!

Has your heat run a little high at any time. If so this will cause an early hatch. Or even if you dont realize it you may have hot spots in your bator.

Temperatures seemed pretty good throughout the whole time. I think my thermometer may be off. It's a digital with hygrometer also. The hygrometer was off by 6%, so now that I think about it, makes sense the thermometer was wrong too. Maybe I'm really lucky ANYTHING hatched, LOL!

Second one hatched early this morning. And two more pips!
Looks like this is going to work!

*ETA: going out now to buy batteries, takes too long to charge the ones I have, I GOTTA have pics!
