OK, here's my situation: I had 7 of my Pen girl's eggs in a Brinsea mini. But because her eggs are so long, they're not turning properly because they're rubbing up against the center water reservoir. Because of this, I moved her eggs over into another incubator which incubates eggs in a vertical position. I know that eggs being incubated in this manner should always have their pointed end facing down, but therein lies the problem. This girl's eggs are an almost uniform shape. It's very difficult to distinguish one end from the other. I'm not even sure if they're in the right position now. I'm not sure that candling would work, because her eggs are very dark. Is there any other way to find out which end is which?

You need a very strong light to see through dark eggs. You can see the air cell - that is the top. You probably already know that. I have cuckoo maran eggs in my bator that I can't see through either.
