Hatching eggs for the first time help

Ok so I have 3 silkie hens and 1 roo and between my silkies they have laid 5 eggs I put them together 1 laid 3 the other laid 2 I combined them while they were eating a few days ago but no one is wanting to set them so what do I do? Do I toss or when do I toss?? I would love to have furry babies but i don't want the eggs to go bad and smell!!thanks

You can't make a hen go broody. While silkies are known for broodiness, that doesn't mean they will be or when you want them to be. Some people try to coax them into broodiness by leaving fake eggs in the nests and I'm sure that there are other things people think help with it, but over all it is a physiological/chemical thing that we can't control.
 
So how long should I leave the eggs there before tossing them!! They are funny when there were no eggs I couldn't get them out of the nesting box now I can't get them in lol

Isn't that how it works? lol You want them broody they won't be, you don't want them to be and they won't break? lol I would pull them out and when they show signs of being broody I would start collecting and when you are ready and sure they are truely broody, then set them under her.
 
Ok I don't think these eggs are safe to eat with them being out in his heat for 4 or 5 days lol but I guess I will see what they do! Thanks
