How often is it ok for my broody hen to be off the nest?

Mine will not leave the nest but every few days. She is a super broody chickie growing momma! When she does leave it is for less than 10 minutes and back she goes.

Some birds will leave the nest everyday and up to an hour without any problems.

I have had chickens for about 3 years now, and this is the first experience I have had with a broody chicken. She just started sitting on her eggs about 3 days ago. She has a clutch of about 13 which arent only her own. She seems to be off and on the nest. When she is off, its only for a few minutes. I know the eggs need to be kept at a constant 99 degrees, but I live in south Texas and it is well over that here.

Should I just let her keep on, or is some sort of intervention needed?

If it's just for a few minutes and your temps are high enough they should be fine. If the temps drop and she is off for long periods you might consider intervention but right now sounds like she is fine
