Hatching eggs to sale?

Hello, I am a relatively new chicken keeper and I have some people asking me to sell them eggs for them to incubate. I have no idea what kind of price to tell them or anything. Help please. We are in southwest VA if that helps. Small town. Lots of farmers around.

It depends on the breed. You could go by the dozen, or by individual eggs.

With selling by the dozen, most people sell them for $20-$30. If you sell by the egg, (which also allows people to mix and match breeds), maybe $2.50. Hope this helps, and good luck!

I would suggest looking for local listings in your area on craigslist and maybe facebook to see what the going price is locally. Consider what breeds you have and if there will be any pure breed chicks, because that could increase the value some.

If they are purebred I'd sell them for $20 dozen, or $5 dozen for barnyard mix.
