Hatching eggs

I have a silkie due to hatch 7 eggs any day now. Yesterday she came out to getvwater poop & free rage for a few minuits. While she was out her buddy who sits in the box daily was sitting on the eggs! I nicely removed her and put momma back on her eggs! Is this ok?

sadly none made it. i waited and waited and finally did the test where you float the eggs after 28 days. all had died. there were 3 fully formed chics but they never hatched. don't know why

Sorry to hear that. Usually a mama hen is the best way to hatch out eggs. I wouldn’t think having another hen lay on the eggs would do anything to the eggs, but I’m not sure. Hopefully you can try again.
