for some reason my hens will not take to a nest to sit on my eggs. i am in need to start hatching out some chicks anyone have any ideas, or maybe i could buy a incubator that will hatch around 20-40 eggs at a time, but i am unsure which incubator to buy:rolleyes:

I think most breeds of chicken will not go broody. What are your breeds?

An incubator is a good alternative to a broody hen, but not always as reliable.
You can buy one, or build one. Good smaller incubators start at about $100. You want one that regulates temp and has a fan, an egg turner is extra but is really nice if you don't think you'll be able to turn the eggs every day. People here use hova bators and LG incubators a lot.
good luck with your hatch
