Hatching for others

Admin- I can't figure where to put this, so you can move it if I guessed wrong!

Does anyone hatch for others, as in selling to them. I am thinking about posting to CL what I have, and taking orders for hatches. I can't keep hatching for me, but I don't mind doing it for others. If you do it, how much do you charge a chick? And since I can't sex we are talking straight run.

Rates:
$3 per chick
$5 for sexed 3 week old chick
$7 for brooding longer than 3 weeks

The only hard part is that you have to set more eggs than you need of course to be sure you have enough... or make sure that the individual knows you will try to come as close as you can to their order, but nature is nature and you cannot guarantee anything. When I sell sexed chicks of course.. that also means I have to usually set 4 times what I would straight run... to try and fill the order.

It's good if you have someone you can unload extra cockerels onto for free or if you can have a place to grow them out yourself & then put them in the freezer at the right time.
