Hatching heritage turkeys

Is anyone out there a heritage turkey expert? I am working with Slate Grays and have had an awful hatching year. My hens and toms will be a year old the end of july. Could that have something to do with our failed hatches?(we have had 3 failed hen settings and a failed incubator hatch) the eggs are not sterile because chicks are forming. They all end up dead at various stages.
