The wire in my bator seems way to big (got button quail eggs).
Can I put a towel under them so when they hatch they don't hurt themselves?

I second the rubber shelf stuff I had a problem with a couple of my button quail when I put paper towels down. They were getting spradle legs. Then one fell in between the wire and the side of the bator and I didn't see it for about 30 minutes because it was under the paper towel. So I used a baby burp cloth in the brooder and the chicks were able to get their footing and the spradle leg corrected it's self. They are about the size of a bumble bee when born and soooooo cute! I just sold my last 4 this weekend. Good Luck on yours

I've heard they can lay around 6 weeks...That's so YOUNG!! I'm going to use a paper towel until I can get to WalMart for some shelf liner. Will a paper towel mess with the humidity?
