hatching quail eggs

im new to this. but i was wondering how long do i leave my bowl of water in my incubator when all my eggs hatch. cheers

big bowl of water and quail is a bad combo. Make sure its covered with mesh to keep the hatched ones out.

once all eggs are hatched then remove the water and start moving the dry ones to the brooder. They don't do well if they go to long with out food and water plus once up to speed they bounce around the incubator and run over the newly hatched/hatching so have the brooder ready as soon as the first one pips as you may have to pull some early.

You may want to consider using sponges instead of bowls of water. The little quail are EXTREMELY small when they hatch. They drown very easily and seem to find all of the areas that they should stay out of. I just hatched my second batch of quail and had 100% hatch on both sets. I did have trays of water but they were covered up with a mesh that the eggs were placed on for hatching.
