hatching rates of shipped eggs

I see there are a lot of ads for hatching eggs. How successful are you w/these eggs. Not to bash or brag on anyone, just curious? 50% hatch or better?

well my hatch rate with shipped eggs so far has been 60% but these eggs were from a hatchery. Not sure how great that would be from somewhere else tho. think my hatchrate was so low with those eggs, cause the day they were shipped, we got an unusual temp drop, so the eggs were very cold when I got them.

9 had lots of air bubbles or porous looking shells

Of the 9 fertile all 9 hatched, 8 lived.

I ordered my eggs from the next state over (GA). The city I got them from is not too terribly far away from the border of SC and GA.

I would recomend getting eggs as close by as possible. The further they travel the more chance of non viable eggs.

This year I have bought a lot of hatching eggs. I have a GQF sportsman and a couple of styrofoams I use as hatchers. I also have some silkies that I use too.
I have had hatch rates as high as 100% and as low as 20%.
I have found that it is best to let the eggs rest a day after recieving them.
I have also found that eggs shipped in very small boxes get tossed around a lot more. ( I have watched my post office recieve thier deliverys from the am truck).
I have peacocks, ornamental pheasants, mandarins and several varieties of call ducks. This year I wanted to get some bantams that were not availaible localy plus I am a hatch-aholic.
Eggs thru the mail are not cheaper than hatchery chicks but you can get a strain that might be across the country that otherwise would not be available to you.
I live in michigan and have 100% rates from texas and florida. I have also had less 60% from michigan. I think it depends more on the eggs storages and the flocks vigor than the USPS.
