I have a hova bator genesis. I've always kept it on the factor defoult setting (4) and it's always read about 100.8 but the hatch i'm doing now it started out fine but then on day 5 it spiked up to 102.3 and then went down to 101.8 and it's been there since then. I thought it was just because I had added water and accidentlely mad it to hot but it never cooled down. So I took the setting down to 3 and its now at 101.2 ( I opened it about 15 minutes ago) so it doesn't seemed to have changed anything. What should I do? Is my thermometer wrong? Thanks

Any outside drafts or heating vents from household heat etc., could alter your temperature slightly. Happens to mine all the time. You should be fine, unless it goes way up to 103+ and stays there for a long time. If it seems that it is a little too high, some people open the bator for about 10 minutes a day.
