Has anyone tried hatching goose eggs under muscovy ducks? Any comments on success vs momma goose or incubator?

Hi

Great incubators and usually very devoted. Ideal very larger breeds of geese which are clumsy with their eggs, eg Dewlap Toulouse. The only drawback is you cant put too many very large eggs under a Muscovy and she has to be broody at the right time - so having a few is a benefit.

Thanks!

When you say "can't put very many" under a 'Scovy - how about Pilgrim-sized eggs? Are we talking 2-3 or 7-8?

(I know 'Scovies will hatch up to 15 of their own, which is craziness.)

I would limit to about 6. A friend of mine starts his in the incubator and when they show fertile they are put under the Muscovy so she's not wasting her time (or yours) on infertile eggs
