Has anyone left their eggs vertical when they went into lockdown?. I have a brinsea octagon econ and I want to try to leave the eggs up and down instead of laying them on their sides on day 18. In the past I have had chicks die because they end up facedown when zipping around and they can't breathe when they are lying on their sides. Also, sometimes I accidently leave an egg back in the incubator as I move the rest to the hatcher and that egg always ends up hatching just fine vertically? What do you think? Am I missing something about why they need to be on their sides?

I hatch in all my incubators vertical.

in the bators that are not my brinsea I use cut down egg cartons to hold them up.

I like it better than laying horizontal plus it helps cut down on chick soccer.
