Okay, I'm a grandma, dove hatched her fisrt chick just a few minutes ago. Dove was hand raised, so can sit and pet her, without bugging her at all, also lift and look at the eggs. Since I candled eggs for the last time and saw one had pipped, been worrying, since I lost last few.And today makes day 19.I watced the chick work the egg, and once it got going, it tore thru that egg and was out real fast. Chick is still wet, so not sure what color it is, except looks like black and yellow. Can't wait till it dries, might try to get pics. I'm so happy I can't see strait, and Dove seems real proud, has it tucked under a wing and is just talking away to it. She's my favorite hen, when she isn't sitting, when we go in to feed, she comes up and likes to be petted and held, so couldn't have happened to a nicer hen.
