I had a similar problem with multiple banties laying in a broody hen's nest. She had to be moved to a "hatching" pen all the same, (something I've managed successfully several times), but when I tried it with this hen she appeared to abandon her efforts at sitting on the eggs. I gave her several hours but she did not return to her eggs, finally, realizing that left cold they would all perish, I dusted off my incubator that I hadn't used in years. I MISUNDERSTOOD the instructions and only brougth the temp to slightly over 80 degrees, and the eggs remained like that for 24 hours plus. As I was turning them tonight I realized that they didn't feel nearly warm enough and went crazy looking for instructions, discovered my error and .........well, though I've adjusted the temp now I wonder if this is not now a lost cause. Most of the eggs were quite cool to the touch when I removed them from my hen, then I mess up the temp, is there any chance at all that any of them might hatch ????? thanks, Mich
