Have to move- must find place for chickens to stay! (S. Oregon)

I can understand your feelings...the thought of us moving across country without my girls was horrid...hence we will not move before next summer. I am going to take my chickens and ducks with me and that is that. hahahaha

I will talk to DH this evening now that I have the info from you. Especially about the Silkie, Cheyenne would spoil him rotten.

So far Cetawin, you are the closest person to offer to look after our chickens. I really appreciate it!
Things were looking bad for our house situation for a while, but we got GREAT news yesterday- we have way more options open now, so we WILL be getting a house of our own. With a yard. All we have to do is pick one, and do all the stuff you have to do to buy a house. It will take a while, but not more than a few months. So we will be able to say the situation is temporary.YAY for houses!!!
So if you are still willing to keep our chickens for us we would be tremendously grateful. Like I said, my dad has a shed which can be adapted as a coop, and a chain link dog kennel to build into a pen (the birds free range currently, but we lock them in at night and were planning to keep them confined till they get used to the new coop, at least) so that is not a problem. It looks, finally, like everything may turn out okay after all!
Thank you so much for your offer... I would be so much more stressed out if I didn't have a plan that would let me keep the chickens. It is hard to give them up, even for a while, but I feel way more comfortable leaving them with a BYCer than any other option except maybe my parents who live 200+ miles away and have a dog who chases and snaps at cats. That is a last resort, since I know it wouldn't be good for them. But I am rambling on.
Thank you once again. It really means a lot to me that strangers would offer to help me with something so important!
