Have to rehome our chicks

My daughter is apparently allergic to chickens & we cannot keep them in the house anymore. Since it is not nearly warm enough to keep them in an unheated coop at this age (2-3weeks & its supposed to be 18°F tomorrow night) I am rehoming them. They are going to a good home with someone we know will take good care of them.
So, I will be around but chickenless until spring when we can start again with an outside flock :jumpy

The kicker is I have been trying to get a hold of code enforcement for 2 weeks to find out what our limit is & they drove by today so I stopped them to ask (I thought we were over our limit). The man I spoke with said there is no limit as long as we don't have a crowing rooster disturbing the neighbors. Even then the neighbors have to speak with me first to try to resolve it, then file a complaint & prove the rooster is causing them actual anguish to do anything about it.
Not bad for a living in an actual city, right next to downtown.
