Having a dog makes life so much easier

Every time I have to round the chickens in the coop, me and my mom do it. Now that we have a herding dog, we just point and say “ round it up ! “ or “ go get it ! “ or my favorite term: “ nyahhhhhh ! “ and she rounds each little group into the coop. Life is so easier now because we have a rooster and little tiny fast Easter Eggers. Trust me; once you get the hang of your herding dog, life can be so much easier.

Ahhh I wish my collie cross would do that. She used to chase the birds but I've trained her out of that.
I'm not sure what the neighbours will think if I keep shouting 'nyahhhh' though

I'm curious to see how my border collies will react to our chickens once we get a flock! They work sheep out in the heather fields, which is why I have my dogs in the first place (well, that, and they make great, much loved pets) but chickens are something else entirely.

Our 7 year old border is very calm, him I'm not worried about. Our 1.5 year old youngster on the other hand.... I fear he'll scatter them all about rather than round em up, he is super fast and really enthousiastic
