Hello All

First off I want to say a quick thanks to the BYC community. This website is amazing!

I recently purchased 4 chicks from a local ranch in Austin, TX. They had a special where they gave 4 random chicks (I believe they are all hens judging by their wings or at least I hope so :) ) I was curious because the ranch said they can range anywhere from a week to a couple of months. I am super curious in determining what breeds I have and a rough age estimate.

I attached some photos from their most recent backyard excursion.

Thanks so much for the input. I know it’s early but I’m guessing that the two darker ones are black sex link, the yellow with black spots an exchequer leghorn, and the biggest one (white/grayish one) is an ameraucana?

I’m guessing that the two darker ones are black sex link,

Black Sexlinks usually do not have featheres on their feet and legs, so I think both of yours must be something else. Also, they have different color patterns, so they might be two different breeds, or two colors of one breed.

the yellow with black spots an exchequer leghorn

When I google for images of Exchequer Leghorn chicks, I see a lot more black on them than I see on your chick.

I'm guessing something like one of these:

https://hoovershatchery.com/CaliforniaWhite.html
https://www.idealpoultry.com/product/1490/44

Those links are for Austra White, California White, and Ideal 236. All are white Leghorn-type birds with a few black flecks, and lay white eggs. It seems that almost every hatchery has their own version with a unique name, but from the descriptions I think they're all fairly similar--and it looks (to me) like what you have.

and the biggest one (white/grayish one) is an ameraucana?
You might be right; I don't know enough about Ameraucanas to tell for sure.
