Hello! I've been 'peeping' in and researching your site for some time, as I began raising chickens for the first time earlier this year. What a wonderful nest of information! I've raised other types of fowl for a few years, and many other animals (I have quite a little collection of critters here on the ranch) but never thought about raising chickens. Well, now I'm hooked and am really enjoying my fresh-egg omelettes on Saturday mornings. How did I ever live without them?
My family and I plan to expand our little flock of pet hens to a more productive flock to provide eggs and meat starting next spring. Of course, there is no way we can eat the first fab 5 - they are too much like family members. I can't wait to get to know everyone and am looking forward to learning more as the seasons pass. What a great site!
