Hi
I'm looking for some insights
I had 8 ducks but lost one due to illness and then last week a goshawk attacked the flock and took one duck

I'm looking to get either LGD or a goose to help with the issue

It's very hard to find goose in my area and there is one person have them for sale. It's pilgrim mix and 6 months old and my ducks are only 3 months old

I don't have extra space so duck and goose will be living together

Is it a bad idea ? Or shall I wait till spring to hatch some of my own and have a coop for themselves

Thank you

When an eagle shows up overhead, the geese will alarm call -- and then run as fast as they can. They would not care if the eagle killed every one of my ducks.

Also, I house my runner ducks separately from the geese, who like to randomly roust the ducks from resting in the yard and "herd" them elsewhere.

Very sorry about your losses.
