Hi. I awhile ago I tried to hatch eggs any non of them made its. Still very sad about that. But lately one of my hens went broody and I put silkie eggs under her and it’s day 11 now but all the eggs seem to have passed. It could be from the other chickens getting in to the brood area but that did not happen to much As I sealed it. i was wondering if any One has any tips as I want to hatch eggs but I just get upset and heart broken.plus I’m worried that my broody hen Kathy will be upset when her eggs don’t hatch. Thanks.

Where did you get the eggs from? Were any checked for fertility?
Did you candle the current batch at day 7 to check for development?

The eggs where from my silkie Charlie. I did mot check if they where fertile but they all had stared developing. I did not see anything at day seven but when I put the eggs under her it was at lunch time so it would not have been exactly 7 days.

I have not thrown the eggs away yet. Two look dead but one might br fine just heard back from a friend i sent her the videos of the eggs.

I was also wondering the hen got in to her area this morning and they pecked her should I clean her face it has little blood spots all over it. Have covered the gap I’m tape so hopefully they can’t get in.

I would wait till she leaves the nest to eat. But yes you probably should clean her up.
