Hawk and the crows

Wow, this morning as I was working in the barn I heard a huge commotion.
The rooster was swacking and the hens were bowking and them I heard the crows....cah....cah
When I made it to were I could see, I saw a hawk retreating into some near by trees with two to three crows all over it. They chased it throw the trees and then out in to a clearing.
Boy I was so thankful to see those crows!

We have hawks and owls real bad here and they will eat anything that is free ranged for more that 5 minutes. I too saw for the first time the other day, 2 crows flogging the mess out of a big hawk and running him clear out of the area. The only thing I could figure is that the crows have a nest somewhere close and that's why they chased the hawk away. I have never seen that before.

Whatever the reason I now have a new appreciation for the crow!!
