Hello, I have a small turkey about 5 weeks old. Yesterday a hawk grabbed her but didn't get away with her and she has several wounds under her wings. I cleaned the wounds and put ointment on them. This is our first go at having turkeys and we just love them. She survived the night, is eating, and walking around slowly. Does anyone know how long it it takes her to heal and if I should do anything else. Thank you.

Welcome to BYC. So glad that she survived the hawk. I would clean and put ointment on her wounds twice a day. That way you can look her over for any hidden wounds or possible infection. It is good that she is walking and eating. It will probably take a week or two depending on how bad her wounds are, and if the hawk caused any internal injuries. Look for any puffy areas under the skin which could be leaking air sacs. Make sure that she is getting plenty to drink. Pictures of wounds if possible can be helpful.
