Hawk? Fox?? Confusing Predator Behavior

It's possible it was a hawk and fido dragged the bird somewhere, and retrieved it a couple days later.

Or.. and hopefully not... Fido actually killed the chickens.

Maybe a game cam will help you figure out what is lurking around.

I think you might be right about the dog finding it and bringing it back. Like another user said, a multi-predator situation. I hate the feeling that I couldn't keep my girls safe. I like your idea of the cameras- thank you!

Im very sorry your losing birds. Not sure what predator is responsible. This is hard to say.........
Possible bird was injured and hiding until Monday night/Tuesday a.m and predator found and finished her off? That's a hard concept to accept, but would explain the "freshness" of the carcass.
