I am turning 60 next month and have never encountered this.My chickens free range with my turkeys during the day.The first time I saw this I thought it was fluke that would disappear.A hawk is walking with my turkeys using them for cover and grabbing a chicken. This is now occurring about every three days.My flock is being destroyed.Mainly the newly hatched chics. My yard has much cover for the fowl but this is not working due to the turkeys being used for cover.Has anyone seen this and any suggestions would be appreciated. My German Shepard has tried to get it on several occasions without success.

Wow!!!!! That is amazing. See if a rehabilitation place could maybe take it please. There has got to be something. That is a smart bird.. Let them know you can't let him take your hens one by one and your going to have to let your german shepard at it if they can't take it. ;) With brains like that it truely saddens me to think of it dead.

I will try as soon I step out the door it takes flight. The shephard can’t of course get it either although she succeeds in running it off.I want a picture too because it is so weird. At first I thought it was hurt so that was all it could do but it definitely isn’t hurt. Its just sneaky and the royal palms are so docile they just let it.
