Hawk killing hen in closed run

My hen was killed earlier today by what we think was a hawk who flew down into our closed run. The run has metal wires running over it.
For 9+ years this has kept all hawks out and we thought they were safe. My hens body was still inside the run and the other hens were fine. We have kind of a large round shaped run/yard that they live in and we don’t know how to keep them safe now. The hawk lives near here and I’m sure it will come back everyday and pick off my hens one by one as they eat their breakfast

Can you section off part of your run so you can cover it with some welded wire or some such thing? Keep your chickens confined there until the hawk moves on.

Welcome to BYC @Ilovemychickens__ ..sorry for your troubles.

Could have been a hawk, or anything that could climb over the fence.
How high is the run fence?

It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
