Hawks and Free Rangers.

We have a hawk problem recently and we free range. With a hen who recently hatched bitties, I am looking for some ideas because he has gotten smart when my fiancee brings out a gun. Any ideas?

Well hawks are protected and all, but can you provided LOTS of cover for the chickens?

The smart ones will hide when the 'air alarm' is given (roosters and crows give this) the dumb ones will die...

I am assuming a Coopers hawk is coming in and snagging chicks and hen can not react fast enough to keep it at bay?
