This is what happens when you attack your peeps!

My beautiful rooster, Ivan incarcerated for attacking my favorite hen, Madge! He went with a friend who has an older flock who will try to incorporate him. I hope he does well. I will miss him.

My girls are pretty peaceful and happy though... go figure!

Thanks! I think that his good looks saved him from the stew pot for now. The new owner is going to put him in with some older hens. Maybe they will show him what good manners are all about.

Some roosters are such jerks. We had a rooster who introduced a new girl to the flock by trying to scalp her. Given he'd already been very violent with the other girls, he had to go. I loved the guy, but what a jerk!
