He or she?

Well, i was thinking that my 7 mnth old barred rock was a hen but due to a recent post, I'm not sure. Haven`t had any crowing and there is no fighting with my ameraucana roo so......

Will try to get a better pic tommorow so the tail is visible but the tail feathers are short like the other hens.

Looks like a rooster from what I can see - the lighter color and I think I see slender, pointed saddle feathers. Sometimes Barred Rock rooster can take a long time to grown their tail feathers in.

My BR was a sleeper for a long time. I did a poll on here and the results were 60% in favor of Roo, 40% for pullet. A few weeks later things started getting clearer. He was almost 8 months before he crowed. Now he doesn't shut up!

Sometimes the roos try to fool us I think.
