Hello. I got baby chicks 1 week ago. I got 21 and they seemed all very healthy until Sunday. I have 1 that looks smaller than the 2 others of her breed, but she was fine until she wasn’t. Sunday she started laying her head down between her legs. She will shake almost like she is rubbing her head or seizing, then start frantically walking backwards while still shaking her head. She does this about once every min for a few seconds. If I pick her up, she then walks and chirps. She is having trouble eating and drinking, but if I hold her up and put her to the water, she can drink. I also saw her trying to peck and successfully getting a bite or two before going into another episode. Sometimes she moves forward and flips over too. I have never seen this before. A lot of what I read says wry neck, but the walking backwards suggest a neuro issue. Can anyone help me out? I can go pick up whatever I need this afternoon…I just don’t know what I need. I am posting a picture because I can’t figure out how to add a video.
Thanks in advance!

Is it a Silkie? Did you get them from Cackle?
Silkies are notorious for needing constant vitamins in their water. I got some from Cackle and they really don't care what they are breeding to try to remedy this problem.

No. I got her from Mt heathy Hatchery and she is a buff Orpington

I’ve got a Silkie chick I’ve had for a week doing the exact same thing. Got this one with 16 others (6 silkies total) from an independent breeder. Just started this today. Thanks for posting this. Had absolutely no clue what was going on.
