Last night, I had a weasel get into the coop. It took one of my hens and injured her younger sister on her head. It is a nasty gash in the back and there is dried blood on one of her fluffy cheeks which is holding her eye shut. How should I go about treating this? She is in shock - will not walk, eat, nor drink. How can I encourage her to start eating and drinking?

The wound is very minor. Clip the feathers away, clean it out, & then apply non pain Relieving Triple Antibiotic ointment to keep it moist. Make sure there's enough dry time in between each cleaning, & moisture applications.

For shock, make up some warm electrolytes. Like warm Gatorade, or Sav-A-Chick.
