head shaking

my hen started shaking her head for a few days then i found her dead in the coop. any suggestions on what was happening with her??

More information would be needed. Did she have problems breathing or drainage from her nostrils or beak? Respiratory infection can cause head shaking. Was her crop in her upper right chest, full and hard or puffy like a balloon? Impacted or sour crop can cause an obstruction leading to death. Can you check your other chickens for lice or mites? They may be found around the vent, under wings, or around the neck, and can cause head shaking. The best way to find out what caused a death is a necropsy or chicken autopsy, by our state vet or a poultry lab. Sorry for your loss.
