Hello everyone,

Recently I have a few chooks that were laying fine until around last week. Where they don’t lay/lay very little.

They are only just POL and not much has changed other than new feed. All other chickens other than these are still laying fine and seem healthy.

They don’t seem sick other than the constant head twitching every 2 seconds, which my other chickens don’t have. They are eating and drinking fine.
Their face does seem swollen though.

Does anyone know why this may be or have any clue what I can do to help?

I started giving them vitamins and electrolytes a few days ago.

I’m not sure how to attach a video so I have attached some photos of them.

Thanks.

Hi,

It sounds like they may have an infection, like sinus or ear infection. The twitching could be them trying to clear it. No other symptoms?

Have you checked them for mites? They'll also do that if they have those, but that wouldn't usually explain their faces swelling.

Check their eyes for any bubbles or other unusual signs, and their mouths for any yellow gunk.

What's the new feed called you're giving them out of curiosity?

They may need an antibiotic. Good to have them on vitamins every other day. Electrolytes should just be once and done.

To post a video, one way is to post it on YouTube first, then link it here. Also a better picture of them or one of them, so we can see them a little closer up would be helpful.
